On July 19, Sharp-Roxy Electronics Corporation (M) Sdn. Bhd. (SREC: a manufacturing company in Malaysia) conducted an environmental class for 150 children at an elementary school, on the theme of solid waste management and recycling. A lecture titled "Let's separate garbage and practice 3R (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle)" was given by the SREC EMS* Secretary. Besides the lecture, there were several activities intended to enhance environmental awareness among the children and in society. They were an environmental quick quiz, a contest of handicrafts from recycling materials, cleaning up and tree planting.

SREC started environmental education for school children in March 2008 and this was the second class. The first class had immediately resulted in further requests from several schools to conduct the same activity at their schools, demonstrating how the activity has been highly evaluated in the community.
