In June 2007, Sharp-Roxy Sales & Service Company (M) Sdn. Bhd. (SRSSC) planned and carried out a local community service activity at Zoo Negara, a major national zoological park in Malaysia with a long history dating back more than 40 years. About 240 SRSSC employees and family members, plus about 10 people from Sharp Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (SEM), a neighboring base, participated in cleanup activities and worked to repaint walls. In addition, a childrens sketching contest was held with about 50 youngsters competing, using the animals in the park as their models.

On August 18, 2007, Sharp-Roxy Corporation (M) Sdn. Bhd. (SRC) sponsored a blood donation campaign at two locations (a sports facility and a community center) in cooperation with a local general hospital. About 150 employees and local residents participated. The campaign followed in the traditional spirit of gotong-royong (helping one another in the Malay language) and was held as part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Malaysias independence in 2007.

Sharp Semiconductor Indonesia (SSI) established an Eco-Mind Expansion Week during September 2007, and held a variety of in-house events. Employees and their families contributed numerous entries to an environmental slogan and poster contest held during the week, and prizes were awarded for the best work. In addition, a photo exhibit presented images of community service activities and an emergency evacuation drill.

In October 2007, Sharp Manufacturing France S.A. (SMF) was a key corporate participant in a local One Product for Many Jobs event held to inform junior high and high school students about professional career opportunities. A total of 125 working professionals profiled 44 different job opportunities, such as secretary, designer, electronics engineer, translator, nurse, and environment-related jobs. Among the working professionals were 30 from SMF who outlined career paths related to digital MFPs. In all, about 1,300 students from eight schools took advantage of the opportunity to think about potential future careers.

In October 2007, children from local elementary schools in Wales visited Sharp Manufacturing Company of U.K. (SUKM) to learn about the environment. The invitation to visit the plant was part of a campaign to raise awareness of various energy resources, particularly sunlight. Students were able to get a real sense of the major role that the solar power generation systems manufactured by SUKM play in preventing global warming.

In November 2007, Sharp Electronics (U.K.) Ltd. (SUK) cosponsored a tree-planting event in support of the local borough council. SUK donated approximately 490 sapling trees and about 20 employees participated in the daylong event, helping to plant the trees as part of an effort to enhance green-space in Hillingdon, the westernmost borough in Greater London. The area is famous for its natural beauty and is home to a large lake and numerous parks. This green space forms valuable habitat for many animals and plants, including larks, butterflies, and native vegetation.

In December 2007, about 350 employees of Sharp Appliances (Thailand) Ltd. (SATL) planted young mangrove trees along the nearby shoreline. The recovery plan for coastal mangrove forests has been developed as a project initiated by King Bhumibol of Thailand. With the cooperation of the local Chachoengsao Province, some 100 local elementary and high school students also participated. SATL is promoting environmental and social contribution activities at the regional level with the goal of being a company firmly rooted in the local community.

Sharp Electronics Corporation (SEC) was involved in two community service activities during the 2007 holiday season (the month leading up to December 25). The Toys for Tots campaign collects new and unopened toys and distributes them as Christmas presents to disadvantaged children during the holiday season. This year, SEC employees donated approximately 250 toys under the program.
The Blue Jeans Program supports the Food Bank, a hunger-relief charity that distributes food at no charge to the poor. SEC employees who donated money or food to the Food Bank were allowed to wear jeans to work on Fridays during the holiday season, and a large amount of food items was collected. Donations from both activities were sent to childrens institutions and social welfare facilities through regional social service agencies.

P.T. Sharp Electronics Indonesia (SEID) donated 20 air purifiers to a hospital in Jakarta through the auspices of the Indonesian Ministry of Health. The donation was made to mark the completion of a successful touring sales campaign that brought a Sharp air purifier roadshow to shopping malls in four major cities across Indonesia, including Jakarta.
The ceremony for the donation in March 2008 was attended by SEID executives, individuals associated with the hospital, and others.
